31/12/11 - Rosehill, Doomben, Morphettville and Moonee Valley

Rosehill

Race 1 - Single looked quite good winning 1st up and I don't see a reason why it can't repeat the dose here.  Has a perfect strike rate at this track and distance.

Race 2 - Kuhreihen looks a nice horse and I think it can back up it's 1st up win here.  Will be fitter for that effort and will be hard to hold out.

Race 3 - I'll be watching this 2 year old race.

Race 4 - There's a number of chances in this race.  I've gone with Arawak.  In it's 3 starts, it's won 1 and ran 2nd in the others.  In each race the winning margin has been 0.1 of a length.  So quite possibly this horse could be 3 from 3.  I think this distance is perfect for this guy at this stage.  The 3kg claim for Clipperton gets him down to 50kg and he'll be hard to catch with that light weight.  Other hopes to Flying Zero, Racing Eight and The Owl.

Race 5 - I found it hard to separate several horses here.  I'll work around So So Sure, Bereft, Duke Of Cornwall and Maules Creek in multiples.  All 4 have legitimate claims.  I have a slight leaning to Duke Of Cornwall based on it's light weight, good record over the trip and decent 2nd up record but as I said, a number of chances.

Race 6 - Not overly keen on this race at all.  I'll put New Day Rising on top but I won't be getting too involved, if at all.  Won over this distance at this track 2 starts back.  Just think it has a bit more to offer than most of these.  Other hopes to Parthian, Tromso and Mr Unforgettable.

Race 7 - St Beune should set a reasonable pace in front which hopefully will set it up for horses running on.  That will have to be the case for my top pick Peck to get the win as it gets a long way back.  He got too far back last start but did run on well for 2nd.  Other hopes to King Gladiator, Palasport and Tropicana Girl.

Race 8 - Going with Happy Hussy in the last.  The horse is in good form winning 2 and running 2nd in it's 3 runs this prep.  Should lead and will prove hard to catch.  Other hopes to Rose Of Peace, Titbit and Moorings Capital.  ***Titbit scratched. Oakfield Comet added to the other hopes.

Doomben

Race 1 - I see this as a race in 2 between Hidden Kisses and Santo De Lago.  Perhaps a quinella bet is in order.  I've put Santo De Lago on top because I think it will get a better run than Hidden Kisses.  It's been absolutely charging to the line in it's last few and it will be licking it's lips at the prospect of the extra 200m.  Great record at the track and distance.  Other hopes to Hidden Kisses, Dienekes and Primed.

Race 2 - This is a tricky race.  I haven't been able to settle on 1 but I'll be working around Purettan, Tycoon  Pride, Heart To Fear, Miss Barwang and Dux Bellorum in my multiples.  I'm leaning to Miss Barwang at this stage.

Race 3 - Speed should be solid here which will suit Nuptse.  She should be able to settle in behind the flyers and get a gun run.  Her last start 2 length 5th to Zero Rock wasn't too bad considering she was caught wide.  Other hopes to Inventory, Mr Favulous and Tycoon Tattoo.

Race 4 - I'll be honest, I've had a gutful of these horses and their penchant for sharing the spoils. For that reason I won't put 1 on top but include a few that I'll be including in my multiples.  They are Humma, Racing Heart, Shezahotshot, Maling and Mr Light Blue.

Race 5 - I don't like these 2 year old races but since it's the 1st leg of the Quaddie I'll look at it.  It's going to be a cracking race and I reckon the winner of the Magic Millions could quite possibly come from here.  I've put Driefontein  on top.  The way she ran 3 wide and still won by 3 lengths on debut was something to take note of.  From an inside gate, Berry should give them something to catch.  Other hopes to Discreet, Snipzu, Noogoora Burr and Sizzling.

Race 6 - I'm sticking with Carry Me Bluey.  I don't see a reason to jump ship.  He's finishing his races in tough style and is in a rich vein of form.  Other hopes to Fillydelphia, Kontiki Park and Emvoss.

Race 7 - Going with Biggles in this.  He should possie up nicely and get a great run.  Should be hitting the line with gusto.  Form is hard to ignore.  Other hopes to Rocket To Glory, Easy Running, Show A Prince and Punch On.

Race 8 - I'm a fan of Thefifthhole but I can't ignore the finishing burst of Tomboy displayed 1st up.  Wow, she was fairly flying.  She has a 3 from 3 record at the distance and has won at this track previously.  Other hopes to Thefifthhole, The Reveller and Prost.  ***The Reveller scratched.  Add Via Del Corso to the other hopes. ***

Morphettville

Race 1 - Assertive Eagle

Race 2 - Miss With Attitude

Race 3 - Luvbite

Race 4 - Quinella Hidden Value/Counter Sign (Hidden Value scratched. Counter Sign on top)

Race 5 - Streetcar Reality from Mimiele, Believe In More and Triple Tee

Race 6 - Miners Gem but small bets only (Scratched. Kind of happy as I wasn't that keen)

Race 7 - Lady Dynamo from Birdman, Indeed I Am and Kellerman

Race 8 - Secret Vintage from High Finance, Gold Bundle and Aurumcert

Moonee Valley

Race 1 - No thanks

Race 2 - I'll pass on this race also.

Race 3 - I'll go with Roses In The Glen here.  The horse is always around the money and it's 1st up run was good.  Has a great record over this distance.  Other hopes to Delegance, Empress Cleo and Queen Of Roses.

Race 4 - Weekend Special looks a handy type and I think he'll be winning this.  Has never finished worse than 2nd in it's 6 starts and won it's previous start at this track and distance.  Other hopes to The Soldier and General Truce.

Race 5 - I'm going to put faith in the notion that Pied A Terre is a decent horse.  It looked good as a 2 year old and I don't think there's a lot of quality in this race.  If it's anyway decent then it should be beating these.  Other hopes to Costa In The Glen, Reassert and Jugahlation.

Race 6 - I've put Murdoch's Joy on top here.  Has a great record over the distance.  Meets Jetconi 4kg better off for getting beaten by it by 2 lengths 2 starts back.  Too many other hopes to list.

Race 7 - Bel Sir looks good value around the $8 mark.  Comes into this off a win over this distance at this track.  Will race with basically the same weight after the claimer.  Other hopes to Slippery Satin, Apres and Bold Trojan.

Race 8 - The last looks an open affair but I've gone with the impressive last start winner Show Up.  Although it was on a heavy surface, the way it beat Big Spirit in it's 1st up Australian run was  good stuff.  Should be able to go on with it here.  Other hopes to Big Spirit, Centexpress and Paparazzi Dreamer.  ***Paparazzi Dreamer scratched.  Add Obsidian Dragon to the other hopes ***

Friday 16 December 2011

17/12/11 - Flemington, Warwick Farm and Eagle Farm

Flemington

Race 1 - No form, no bet.

Race 2 - Nicholls Court should be too strong for these.  Has a definite class edge here.  Good record over the distance and has reasonable straight results.

Race 3 - This looks a good race for Apprehend.  Comes off a nice win last start and drops 3.5kg.  Has a super record over this distance and has likes the track.  Other hopes to Supremacy, Shezaten and Light Vision.

Race 4 - I'm going with Snow Cover here.  Excels on a dry track and should get that here.  His record over the distance is a good one.  I am concerned that he might get too far back in running but hopefully Newitt can position him a bit closer to the action.  Other hopes to Turnitup, Bolton and Lakedro.

***Bolton has been scratched. Tears I Cry is the replacement hope***

Race 5 - This is a tricky race.  I'll be checking to see how the track is playing before getting involved in this race.  On paper, it looks like the speed could be on with at least 4 horses that like to get to or near the lead.  I'll be hoping that Evie Rose can settle just off the leaders and not go like a lunatic in front.  The horse is always thereabouts, running a place in 7 of it's 9 starts.  Should be primed 3rd up.  Other hopes to God Help Her, Legion's Belle and Creed.  Tread Warily!

Race 6 - Going with Mr Griswold in this.  He eats this distance up for breakfast (4 wins from 7) and has a good record at the track.  Was ok 1st up and his 2nd up form is good.  Would prefer a dead track but I think he can still handle a good track despite the average record on it.  Other hopes to Orbit Express, Conquering Journey and Scaredymac.

***Orbit Express has been scratched.  The replacement hope is Alpha Proxima***
Race 7 - Canali is racing in tremendous touch at the moment.  Should be able to race just off the speed.  His last start win over Catapulted was full of merit and guts.  Has a great record over this distance and goes well up the straight.  Other hopes to The Soldier, Silver Bullion and Falco Star.

***Canali has been scratched.  The Soldier promoted to top pick and Periduki to the other hopes***
Race 8 - The Big Steel and Elusive King look to be the 2 that will be fighting this 1 out.  Last start Elusive King beat The Big Steel by 3 lengths.  Perhaps the preferred bet here is to take the 2 in a quinella.  However for the sake of picking a winner, I'll be with The Big Steel.  Although he was beaten by a fair distance last time, he's now 1.5kg better off at the weights and by rights should be all the fitter.  He loves this track and distance.  Other hopes to Elusive King, Coldens Choice and Sylvan O'Reilly.

Warwick Farm

Race 1 - Only 6 runners go around in the opening event.  I'll be passing on this.

Race 2 - I'm going with Flying Empress here.  The horse is going for 3 wins on the trot at it's home track.  Hasn't raced beyond 1400m but I don't think the 1600m here will prove to be a problem.  Should get a great run.  Other hopes to St Beune, Straight Albert and Irish Jig.

Race 3 - Limited 2 year old form.  Pass.

Race 4 - Mikiyama looks the one here.  Should be primed for this 3rd up after 2 reasonable efforts.   Likes this track and has won over this distance here.  Other hopes to Permit, Shawnee Girl and Scouting Wide.

Race 5 - I think Stratana can find the front here and be hard to hold out.  Loves this distance, winning 4 from 6.  I won't lie, this bet involves risk but I feel it offers a bit of value compared to some of it's classier rivals.  Other hopes to Rarefied, Catapulted and Recorrido.

Race 6 - Going with Lightinthenite in the Villiers.  Hasn't raced this far before but I doubt the 1600m will hold any problems given the way he finished off over 1500m.  Down in the weights and racing in tremendous nick, this bloke will give a great sight.  Other hopes to Shadowfax, New Day Rising and Erewhon.  I would throw in My Destiny if it gets a start.

Race 7 - Capital Commander has been freshened leading up to this race.  Goes well under those conditions and I think it can either lead or sit just off the leader here and boot away in what I don't think is an even race.  Has a tidy record at this circuit.  Other hopes to Gunawati, Little Vicki and Oakfield Comet.

***Oakfield Comet has been scratched. Next The Universe promoted to other hopes***

Race 8 - Tough race to finish things off.  I'm going with Jackpot Queen.  Goes well fresh and loves this distance.  Gets in with 51.5kg after the claim.  Other hopes to Shamus, Platinum Choice and Mighty Obvious.

Eagle Farm

Race 1 - I'm going with Mr Light Blue in the opening race.  He gets out to a distance he thrives at now after 2 nice lead up runs.  Other hopes to Shezahotshot and Kar Ma Te.

***Shezahotshot has been scratched. No replacement other hope***

Race 2 - I won't be betting in this race but will be watching keenly with an eye for future 2 year old races.

Race 3 - Same as above.

Race 4 - The Ringmaster looks tough to hold out here.  Looked super 1st up, winning by 2.3 lengths.  Has excellent form around some nice types in it's last preparation.  Should go on with it here.  Other hopes to Miss Barwang, Requested and Politely.

Race 5 - I'll stick with Carry Me Bluey.  I can't seen Munce giving it the same sort of run as last time when it was nutted on the line.  He won't be going early this time (I hope!) and this bloke should be incredibly hard to hold out.  Good record over this distance.  Other hopes to Danagaze, Hidden Kisses and Wonderful Lass.

Race 6 - I'm a massive fan of Skating On Ice and I can't see a reason why she won't bring up her hattrick of wins here.  She was flying last race and the blinkers go on here.  Could spell disaster for the rest.  Other hopes to Miss Imagica, Dual Chamber and Sea Marvista.

Race 7 - I reckon there could be a fair fight for the lead here and therefore set it up for something that likes running on.  In a tough race, I'm going with Aquatorial.  In his 2 runs back from a spell he's been charging to the line behind horses in good form.  If he can replicate that here, he'll be right in the finish.  Other hopes to Biggles, Easy Running and Show A Prince.  However the reality is that there's not many in this race that wouldn't surprise if they won.

Race 8 - I'm a little bit gun shy after the last start nutting on the line but I have to stick with Thefifthhole.  It's hard not to like a horse that puts his aggots (unless gelded) on the line and goes for broke.  Surely he won't goes as hard as last start.  I don't see a main rival to him leading so Colless should be able to do that.  His record at the track and distance is hard to ignore.  Other hopes to Emvoss, Rock Home Late and Prost.  If On Face Value gets a start, I'd be throwing that in as well.

Best Bets

Flemington - Race 2 Number 1 Nicholls Court
                  Race 3 Number 3 Apprehend
Race 6 Number 3 Mr Griswold

Warwick Farm - Race 4 Number 2 Mikiyama
                      Race 5 Number 8 Stratana e/w
                      Race 6 Number 14 Lightinthenite

Eagle Farm - Race 4 Number 6 The Ringmaster
Race 5 Number 4 Carry Me Bluey
Race 6 Number 3 Skating On Ice

Friday 9 December 2011

10/12/11 - Flemington, Rosehill and Doomben

Flemington

Race 1 - Sitting this 2 year old race out.

Race 2 - Not a big fan of this race and won't be getting involved.

Race 3 - This looks a very competitive race.  Massoni looks good value around the $14 mark.  Ran very well over this distance last campaign and won both times it was ridden by Yendall.  2nd up record is perfect.  Other hopes to Better Be Sure, Evie Rose and Lonhreign.

***With the scratching of Massoni and Evie Rose, I'll promote Better Be Sure to top pick. No other additions to the hopes***
Race 4 - I'm going with Magic Me here.  I won't be getting too involved though.  It's a young horse with a decent record who seems best suited to this distance.  Coming off a nice win.  Should be thereabouts.  Other hopes to Population, Did We Win and Lord Wimble.

***Population is a scratching.  No replacement hope.***
Race 5 - Oh boy!  Good luck here.  I'm going with Josimar.  Offers good value down in the weights.  It's 1st up form is hard to read given it struck heavy tracks on 2 of those occasions.  Has registered a 2nd from it's only go down the straight. Other hopes to the field but Cellarmaster, Belgietto and Mr Griswold probably the best.

Race 6 - I'm respecting the form of Full Peal.  2000m shouldn't prove a worry based on the ease at which it has won it's last 4 starts.  Goes up in weight but from last start but has handled bigger weights than this in previous wins.  Other hopes to Jeuneys End, Right Fong and Abitofado.

***With the scratching of Jeuneys End, I'll promote Luckyi'mbarefoot***
Race 7 - Hoping the change of trainer hasn't been to the detriment of Euphoric Realm.  The horse has a great 1st up record winning 3 from 4.  Warmed up for this with a trial win and goes well over this type of distance.  Other hopes to At The Heads, Our Skeeta and Agrippa.

Race 8 - If we finish this meeting with our pants then it's been a good day.  The final race is yet another tough one.  I settled on Star Salute.  Has won both it's 1st up runs, run well down the straight and has run against some quality horses last campaign.  Other hopes to Societal, Delegance and Bay's Edge.  I could name many more as hopes but these are the better ones I feel.

Rosehill

Race 1 - Let's Rock'n'roll looks a reasonable wager here.  Won it's only start in nice style.  Has won 2 trials leading into this and was scratching from Thursday's Gosford meeting.  Have to respect Pride's decision there!  Other hopes to Bello, Barbados and Jackpot Queen.

***With the scratching of Let's Rock'n'roll, Bello becomes the top pick***
Race 2 - Think Never Doubt Me looks good here.  Has a top record overall record and has won twice from 2 goes at this distance.  Was finding the line well 1st up.  Can handle the sting out of the ground.  Other hopes to Happy Hussy, Embark and Sindarin.

Race 3 - General's Sniper should give a really good sight here.  Will either lead or park in behind Oakfield Beauty.  Has a good record over this distance and is banging on the door for a win after finishing so close in it's past 2.  Other hopes to Savannah's Choice, Titbit and Lycra Lass.

Race 4 - I'll go with Winning Glory here.  Went really well 1st up.  Has a great 2nd up record and races well around this distance range.  Has Nash on top for this race which will only add to it's chances.  Other hopes to Grey Assignment, Tropicana Girl and Sky Raider.

Race 5 - Scarf looks the testing material here.  He's 2 from 2 2nd up and if anywhere near his best, should win.  Other hopes to Kontiki Park, Voice Commander and New Day Rising.

Race 6 - Sea Galleon is a horse in form and I'll be sticking with him.  Won last start by 4 lengths over this distance and I'd suggest that they haven't brought him up to Sydney for a haircut.  Other hopes to Yulalona, Nextanix and Merensky Reef.

Race 7 - Going with Peck here.  Has been gelded since last campaign and that could tow this bloke into line.  Has a good 1st up record and has been primed with 2 trials.  Could have a little bit of a class edge on these.  Other hopes to Wazn, Al's Gold and Honest Lies.

Race 8 - I'll put Rocker on top here.  Not keen on the price however.  Won a recent trial where they dropped it to the tail and it rounded them up.  The trainer must have a reasonable amount of confidence to bring it to Sydney.  Other hopes to Liechtenstein, Romanus and Nice And Neat.

Doomben

Race 1 - Watch on.

Race 2 - I'm putting Three Red Roses on top here based on her ability to handle a wet track.  She was really unlucky to lose start but did show a great finish.  Looks set to go on with it.  Other hopes to Mr Light Blue, Figasaurus and Il Cardinale.

***With the scratching of Mr Light Blue, I'll promote Winmara to the hopes***
Race 3 - Despite the wide gate, I'm with Pretty Pins here.  I think she has a definite class edge here and the gate really shouldn't matter.  Handles a wet track and will be tough to hold out.  Other hopes to Dorchester, Index Page and Master Of Puppets.

Race 4 - This race has caused me a lot of grief.  I ended up settling on Hearts'N'Diamonds.  There's a number of winning chances but I went for this horse because I think she's in good form. Last start she ran wide throughout and still came close to Kar Ma Te.  I believe she'll handle a wet track.  Other hopes to Preacher Boy, Fire Up Fifi and Emvoss.

***With the scratching of Emvoss and Preacher Boy, I'll promote Count Your Fingers and Writer to the hopes***
Race 5 - It's difficult to tip against Alltherightmoves.  She has put together a top record winning 5 from 6.  Can handle any going and is just racing magnificently.  Other hopes to Griffon, Hidden Shuffle and Inventory.

Race 6 - I found it hard to settle on 1 here but I've gone with Charm's Honour.  I think it's Sydney form will hold up really well here.  Since coming back from a spell it has gone down by the narrowest of margins.  In it's previous campaign it ran oh so close to Streama on heavy going.  Should get a nice run and be right in the finish.  Other hopes to Ticket To Dream, Lucky Morna and Hollyweird.

***With the scratching of Hollyweird, I'll promote Crazy Mama as a rough hope***
Race 7 - This looks a super race.  I'm going with Essington.  I loved his 1st up effort where he really ran home well.  He has a top 2nd up record and can handle the sting out of the track.  Just loves this distance.  Other hopes to Ready To Rip, Excellantes and Havatryst.

Race 8 - Liesele looks up to it's ear in this.  It's been racing in tremendous heart lately, going down by narrow margins to some of Brisbane's best.  Handles all going.  Postage stamp weight to carry.  Other hopes to Sway To Go, D'Jet and Faster Son.

***With the scratching of Faster Son, I'll promote Tomboy to the hopes***
Best Bets

Flemington - Race 6 Number 4 Full Peal

Rosehill - Race 2 Number 5 Never Doubt Me
             Race 5 Number 3 Scarf

Doomben - Race 3 Number 1 Pretty Pins
               Race 5 Number 8 Alltherightmoves
               Race 8 Number 14 Liesele

Friday 2 December 2011

03/12/11 - Caulfield, Rosehill and Eagle Farm

G'day punters.  Well the less said about last week the better.  Things weren't too bad if you kept to the best bets as 3 of the 5 got up.  However there was little joy with the other selections.  Still we back up again this Saturday and hopefully things will be much better.  Fingers crossed!

Caulfield

Race 1 - 2 year olds without race experience. Pass.

Race 2 - I won't be getting too involved in this race.  I like Mabsam but am a little concerned about it lumping 59kg.  It's last start 0.4 length 2nd to Combat Kitty over this distance should bode well for this race.  It's had a bit a freshen up which should do the trick.  Other hopes to Florets, Suite Success and Her Diamond Rock.

Race 3 - Going with Big Steel here.  Although it has the outside gate, I think he can come across to settle in the 1st couple or even dictate terms.  Has won 2 from 4 2nd up and goes best on a good to dead surface.  Looked quite good 1st up against the very much in form Under The Eiffel.  Other hopes to Elusive King, Pacino and La Rocket.

Race 4 - Don't mind the look of Our Pride And Joy.  Has been racing really well of late, winning it's past 2.  She does her best racing on a good to dead surface and won her only start over this distance.  Other hopes to Apienne, Danahere and Mayneda Strategy.

Race 5 - Infinite Energy looked reasonably handy in it's only start when it ran on from near last to finish 3rd.  Prepared to assume that Moody has it set for a 1st up crack at 1200m.  The apprentice Stackhouse's claim leaves it with just 54kg to carry.  Other hopes to Your Excellency, Stratigraphy and Tale Of The Sea.

***With the scratching of Your Excellency, I'll promote Insurpassable to the hopes***
Race 6 - I like the look of Miss Octopussy in this.  I like the 6kg weight advantage she has over Catapulted.  She should be able to sit behind the leaders and come over the top of them.  Her record at the track and distance is top shelf.  Other hopes to Catapulted, Royal Ida and General Truce.

Race 7 - Avionics looks right in this race.  After the 3kg claim, it looks well weighted to turn the tables on the horses that beat it last time.  Should get a great run on the speed from the nice barrier.  Loves a dead track and goes well at this track and distance.  Other hopes to Zeftabaa, Fabulist and Our Spirits Bay.

***With the scratching of Fabulist, I'll promote Inablitz to the hopes***

Race 8 - I've struggled a bit with this race.  In the end I've settled on Shadowfax.  Has a rubbish gate but will get back anyway so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.  Should be adequate pace on for it to get a fair crack in the straight.  Has a good record at the track and distance and also has a top 2nd up record.  Other hopes to Orbit Express, Snow Cover and At The Heads.

***With the scratching of At The Heads, I'll promote Scaredymac to the other hopes***

Rosehill

Race 1 - A small field of 2 year olds with little to no experience. Pass

Race 2 - I won't be knocking people out of the way to get a bet on here. I'd put Dynamic Honour on top with Gaze In Awe and Sindarin hardest to beat.  Dynamic Honour looks like a horse with the potential to progress through the ranks.

Race 3 - Going with Single here.  Raced in Group 1 company last campaign and looks a very nice type.  Won over this distance last campaign and put in a super trial leading up to this race.  Other hopes to Rolling Pin, Millenium Ruler and Thrillers.

Race 4 - Unanimously looks very hard to beat here.  Has the perfect 3 from 3 1st up record.  This race is over his pet trip and should get a great run.  Other hopes to My Cookie Monster, Madibagold and Recorrido.

Race 5 - Miss Marx ticks a lot of boxes for this type of race.  She's never been out of a place in her 7 starts and has a great 1st up record.  She has raced well at this track and distance and has the added bonus of Nash on top.  Other hopes to Dystopia, Mrs Onassis and Off And Laughing.

Race 6 - I'll go with King Lionheart here.  I'm hoping he has spelled well following the Epsom.  The horse has a lot in it's favour.  Has a good 1st up record, loves the track and distance and has Nash on board.  Should be able to dictate terms.  Other hopes to Kontiki Park, Tromso and Circle Of Power.

Race 7 - This looks a race in 2 for mine between Mikiyama and Revolt.  I'll go with Revolt.  I just think that it's got a bit more upside.  It's been stepping up through the grades with a bit of style. The 2000m is a question mark but it's always running on so it probably won't be a problem.  Other hopes to Mikiyama, Nextanix and Merenksy Reef.

Race 8 - This is a tricky race to finish the meeting.  I feel that there could be a battle upfront here with a number of horses that like to lead.  For that reason, I'm going with Honest Lies.  Last start it rattled home for 2nd and should be all the more fitter for that run.  After the claim, it will only have to carry 52.5kg.  It has a good record at the track and distance.  Other hopes to Stratana, Equable and Rumour And Scandal

Eagle Farm

Race 1 - I'll give this 1 a miss.

Race 2 - Rundle looks very hard to beat again.

Race 3 - Kar Ma Te has looked an impressive type, particularly in it's last start win where it ran 3 wide.  I doubt he'll get trapped that wide in this.  I love the fight of this bloke.  Other hopes to Red God, Shezahotshot and Kiss Me Deadly.

Race 4 - This is a challenging race to say the least. I'm going with King Of The Kongo.  I'm thinking there will be a lot of horses fighting for position here which should ensure a steady speed.  This could set things up for the King who loves to run on as seen by his last start effort in finishing close up to Cape Kidnappers.  Has a great 2nd up record, is good over the distance and gets a nice 3kg off with the apprentice Wood.  Other hopes are Heart To Fear, By Choice and Outstandingly.

Race 5 - It's going to be the charge of the light brigade here. There's so much speed engaged here that you'd have to imagine that some will burn themselves out.  I'd love to get on Silk favourite Saraji again but I don't think he'll have things his own way.  I've gone with Pepper Jet.  He'll stay well away from the speed battle up front and be coming home like a train.  His 4th in the Magic Millions Classic proves he is a quality horse.  Other hopes to Dr Ichi, Saraji and Show A Prince.

Race 6 - Zero Rock looks very hard to beat here.  Has a super 1st up record as well as the distance.  Is weighted beautifully given the quality of opposition.  Chris Waller has said earlier in the week that he probably wouldn't be running his horse Dystopia here just to run a place to Zero Rock.  That's a fairly good recommendation the Zero Rock is the 1.  Hopes for the minors include Liesele, Mossriver and Catashee.

Race 7 - It's hard to go past Carry Me Bluey here.  That finish he unleashed last start was nothing short of outstanding.  Like Shooter McGavin, he'll eat this 1600m at Eagle Farm up for breakfast.  The horse has been racing in super form and will be tough to hold out.  Other hopes to Fillydelphia, Humma and Rockdale.

Race 8 - Given the way Thefifthhole blew his rivals off their feet and then kept going last start, you'd have to think he'll be very hard to hold out again.  It looks like he'll go unchallenged in front which should set it up for him.  2 from 2 over the distance.  Other hopes to Hidden Kisses, Dusty Gold and Prost.

Best Bets

Caulfield - Race 6 Number 6 Miss Octopussy
              Race 7 Number 2 Avionics

Rosehill - Race 3 Number 15 Single
             Race 4 Number 4 Unanimously

Eagle Farm - Race 6 Number 1 Zero Rock
Race 7 Number 9 Carry Me Bluey
                  Race 8 Number 7 Thefifthhole

Because I'm a lunatic I'll be having a sneaky all up bet on Eagle Farm runners Rundle, Kar Ma Te, Zero Rock, Carry Me Bluey and Thefifthhole.

Good luck!

Friday 25 November 2011

26/11/11 - Sandown, Canterbury and Eagle Farm

What a nightmare last Saturday was.  Cleaned up in Brisbane with all the favourites saluting and the 2 best bets for Ascot both got up.  However there was little else to be joyous about and I will be putting that well behind me.  Hopefully there's some better results this Saturday! Fingers crossed!

Sandown

Race 1 - A 5 horse 2 year old race where none of the horses have raced before. Pass.

Race 2 - I'll be giving this race a miss with only 6 horses engaged.

Race 3 - Yet another small field but I'll have a small wager on She's Gifted.  The horse has never been out of a place in it's 7 starts.  Symons takes the ride as he has in 5 of those races.  Goes well over the distance and can handle any going.  Hardest to beat is Always Discreet.

Race 4 - This is a tricky race with the majority of the field having a chance.  I've gone with Crafty Cruiser.  One thing is certain with this guy and that's he'll be running out the 2400m.  Has yet to win over the distance but has placed in 3 of his 4 starts at it.  Other hopes to Shezaten, Musical Hit and Sea Galleon.

Race 5 - Again we are confronted with a race of many chances.  I have gone with Abitofado.  The horse has a good record at the track and distance.  It can handle all going but would be advantaged if the track worsened.  3kg off for the apprentice will help.  Other hopes to Full Peal, Pacino and Snitza.

Race 6 - I like the look of Freereturn here.  Will be able to get across and in just behind the speed.  Has a good record over the distance and can handle any going.  Has been stepping up through the grades nicely.  Other hopes to Dash Of Viz, Under The Hat and Wealthy Lad.

Race 7 - Based on a sheer class factor, Miss Octopussy should be hard to beat.  However I would not be getting carried away at the price on offer.  Yes it has a good record at the distance and on a good to dead track.  However it still has to lump 57kg after the claim and comes from a wide gate.  Her 3rd to Ortensia 2 starts back should hold her in good stead.  Other hopes to Princess Maggie, Happy Joker and Lady Pania.

***With the scratching of Miss Octopussy, I'll promote Princess Maggie to my top selection and add Big Spirit to the hopes***

Race 8 - Snow Cover will get well back but I believe there will be adequate speed for this fellow to come home with a charge.  He is in top form with close 3rds to Under The Eiffel and Its Prince in it's past 2 starts.  Other hopes to Scaredymac, Population and Cadenzia.

Canterbury

Race 1 - 2 year old race on a heavy track. No thanks.

Race 2 - I won't be getting carried away with this race as there looks to be many genuine chances.  I will be going with Charm's Honour.  She has proven herself in wet conditions and more importantly being able to carry a fair weight while doing it.  She should get a nice handy run.        Her 0.4 length 2nd to Streama on heavy looks good for this.  Other hopes to Cindarockinrella, Whitlam and Upbeat.

Race 3 - It's hard to go past Atomic Force.  This fellow is an absolute beast in the wet, winning 3 of his 6 go's on heavy.  Has the in form apprentice Schofield on top taking 3kg off.  Tuned up for this with a trial win earlier in the week.  Hardest to beat is Tiger Tees.

Race 4 - I'm a little concerned about the gate and the way Lil And Grace races but I'm going to take a chance on her.  She loves the track and distance, goes well in the wet and most importantly will race with 50.5kg thanks to Schofield's claim.  Her last start win was hard to ignore where she came from 8 lengths off the lead on the turn.  Other hopes to Savannah's Choice, General's Sniper and Lycra Lass.

***With the scratching of Lycra Lass, I'll add Fill The Page to the other hopes***

Race 5 - Honourable Aussie has been racing in nice touch lately, winning his last 2 over this distance range.  Has a couple of wins on heavy.  Should lead easily and will prove hard to run down with Bowman on board.  Other hopes to Palasport, Hard Liquor and Letchworth.

Race 6 - I'm quite wary of this race. Looks to be an open affair.  I'm going with Strike One.  Loves the track and distance and goes well in the wet.  Won 1st up over this distance last start.  Other hopes to Yulalona, Levi's Choice and Legsman.

***With the scratching of Legsman, I'll promote Scottish Border to the hopes***

Race 7 - Shamus looks right in this.  It has won both starts on rain affected tracks and has a good record at the track and distance.  Should be able to camp up on the speed and get a really nice run.  Other hopes to Liechtenstein, Barsinola and Ravna Gora.

***With the scratching of Barsinola, I'll promote Lining to the other hopes***

Race 8 - Going with Rampart in the last.  After the apprentice's claim, this bloke gets in with 50.5 kg.  Has a good record at the track and distance and appears to handle heavy going well.  If Shamus runs well in the previous then my confidence levels will be raised with this guy.  Other hopes to O'Crikey, Stratana and Secession.

***With the scratching of Stratana, I'll promote We Betcha to the hopes***

Eagle Farm

Race 1 - 2 year olds, limited form, questionable surface.  Pass.

Race 2 - I'll stick with Double Image.  He goes well on all going and has been flying lately.  Think he can sit just off Tycoon Tattoo and unleash hot fury in the straight.  Other hopes to Inventory, Steel Zip and Geared Up.

Race 3 - I'm not overly keen on this race.  There looks to be quite a few chances.  I'll have a small wager on Eureka Jack.  I'm putting a lot of faith into the fact that he ran on well in his last 2 starts which suggests the 2100m should suit.  If there happens to be a downpour tomorrow then  that would increase his chances.  Other hopes to Three Red Roses, Red God and Clangor.

Race 4 - A number of these that I like have drawn wide.  Would have given them some serious consideration if they had drawn closer.  I really like the look of Pretty Pins.  Looks to be able to handle any going and has drawn the 2 gate.  It's last start 3rd to Il Cardinale should be terrific form for this.  The claimer on board is an added bonus.  Other hopes to Dorchester, Hidden Jewel and Playtime.

Race 5 - I'll go with Fire Up Fifi in this.  She hasn't raced this distance before but going by the way she's been finishing off, I would think that it won't be a problem.  Will have no dramas with a damp track.  Reckon she's up to her eyeballs in this.  Other hopes to Geblitzt, Pegunny Cat and Kar Ma Te.

Race 6 - I'll have to go with Mr Consistency, Il Cardinale.  This bloke hasn't put a bad run in this campaign.  Has a good record over the distance and can handle any going.  Should get a nice run in transit.  Other hopes to From London, Mr Light Blue and Grey Assignment.

Race 7 - This should be a great race to watch but tricky to bet on.  There's a handful of these that have winning chances but given the prospect of a rain affected track, I have gone with Ready To Rip.  I suspect there will be a bit of speed on and from the gate he should get back and fingers crossed will be coming over the top.  Has a good record at the track and distance.  Other hopes to Essington, Excellantes and Spirit Of Boom.

Race 8 - Pretty keen on Skating On Ice in the last.  There's a lot to like about her. Loves the distance, handles all going and should get a lovely run.  Should be cherry ripe for this.  Other hopes to Sway To Go, Imeldamay and Aquatorial.

Best Bets

Sandown - Race 6 Number 10 Freereturn
Race 8 Number 8 Snow Cover

Canterbury - Race 3 Number 1 Atomic Force
                  Race 7 Number 4 Shamus

Eagle Farm - Race 4 Number 3 Pretty Pins
Race 8 Number 7 Skating On Ice

Friday 18 November 2011

19/11/11 - Moonee Valley, Warwick Farm, Doomben and Ascot

G'day punters.  Last week was a little frustrating.  From the 28 races looked at, 23 of the top selections ran in the first 3.  Unfortunately only 10 of these were winners.  Hopefully we'll be able to convert a few more of the placegetters into wins this week.

Moonee Valley

Race 1 - Roxit should be further improved from it's 1st up win over this distance and at this track. In that race, she was able to sit outside the leader but from a better gate here should be able to camp just behind the lead and boot clear in the straight.  I feel she has a bit more upside than the rest.  Other hopes to Rescue Mission, Silver Falls and Gotta Laugh.

Race 2 - Pergola looks right in this.  I'm unconvinced that the bulk of these horses can actually run the 3000m out.  Pergola won at the track and distance at his only start.  He's also won 3 times out of 4 attempts at the track.  His Kyneton Cup 3rd should top him off for this.  Other hopes to Jumpin Jack Cash, Palmero and Prussian Officer.

Race 3 - I'm not a fan of this race but I have settled on Saint Angers.  Before it's last race where it was aiming a bit high, the horse was in good form.  Has won or placed in all bar 1 of it's 8 starts.  Should be able to sit up on the speed or even lead and could run these ragged.  Other hopes to Mikeys Magic, Dashalot and Limerock.

Race 4 - Going with Florets here.  Has a good overall record and ran 3rd to Atlantic Jewel at it's only go at this track.  Should be handy in the run and goes well on the fresh side.  Other hopes to Boulevard Betty, The Fairy's Kiss and Reigning Lass.

Race 5 - Cat's Pyjamas looks a nice chance in this race.  Has the great trainer/jockey combo of Kavanagh and Rodd. Straight away, you're in it.  Besides that, the horse has a great 1st up record, super over the distance and has placed in it's only start at the track.  Other hopes to Avionics, Miss Elvee and Tottenham Girl.

***With the scratching of Miss Elvee and Tottenham Girl, I'll promote Fabulist and Zeftabaa***

Race 6 - I've stuck with Eraset here.  He was enormous last start when he narrowly went down to He's Remarkable.  Let's face it, this bloke is due after going down by 0.1 of a length in his past 2 runs.  He has a great record at the distance and also at the track. Other hopes to Cosmic Causeway, The Wingman and Veewap.

Race 7 - I won't be getting terribly involved in this race.  Seems a wide open affair.  I'll go with Bellissimo with my fingers firmly crossed.  The horse should lead and I think it's chances will hinge on whether it can control things easily from there.  It's a concern that the horse has a history of being nutted on or close to the line.  Perhaps the Valley will assist it in this regard.  Other hopes to Finiguerra, Galileo Gold and Ship In The Night.

Race 8 - There's some speedy customers engaged here and no shortage of horses that like to lead.  That could set it up for something running on provided there's no bias against that.  I'm going to go with Rocking Force.  I feel he can settle just behind the speed and capitalise on a fast pace.  He has a good record at the track and distance. His last start win was full of merit.  Other hopes to Definitely Ready, Canali and Master Harry.

Warwick Farm

Race 1 - A 2 year old fillies race where only 2 horses have raced before.  No thanks.

Race 2 - I'll go with Mikiyama here.  Has a class edge over these as shown by it's top weight.  Has a great record over the distance and a fair 1st up record.  Other hopes to Revolt, Dal Rommel and Hard Liquor.

Race 3 - This is a tricky race in regards to working out where they'll all settle down.  A possible wet track also throws a spanner in the works.  I'm going with Saint Etienne.  The horse has placed in all 3 of it's starts with it's most recent result a 3rd in the Group 3 Carbine Club where it ran 0.3 of length of Galah.  That should hold it in good stead here.  Other hopes to Colorado Claire, Hendricus and Euryale.

Race 4 - Another tough race.  I think Pretty Composed could run a race here.  Is undefeated in it's 3 starts.  Won last start on slow track here.  Extra distance shouldn't be a problem based on the way it ran on.  Other hopes to Urgent Bells, Next The Universe and Oakfield Comet.

Race 5 - This isn't a race I'm too keen to get involved in.  In these types of races, the horses seem to take turns at winning.  Having said that, I'm going with Altonio.  It can handle all conditions and comes off a reasonable effort at Flemington.  It might have a bit more improvement in it than it's rivals.  Other hopes to Merenksy Reef, Old Bill and Pregrada.

Race 6 - Scarf was pretty good to us last preparation and I'll be with him here 1st up.  His 1st up record isn't that great but he did win 1st up last prep.  Besides Title, this is a pretty moderate bunch and I think Scarf will be too strong.  Other hopes to Title, Altered Boy and Without Compromise.

Race 7 - I'm going to stick with Rosie's Reward.  Can handle a soft track and gets in nicely with the claim for the Hyeronimus.  Goes well for the jockey.  From the gate, she should be able to lead or settle in just behind the leaders.  Other hopes to Riebeek, Nuptse and So So Sure.

Race 8 - Rolling Pin will do me in the last.  The horse drops in weight, has a good record at this track and distance and can handle all going.  Should be able to make full use of the peg.  Other hopes to Trauma, Chateau Fort and Riding To Win.

Doomben

Race 1 - Sitting out this 2 year old race.

Race 2 - I'll be honest, I've had a gutful of these 2000m type races in Brisbane.  Thought Racing Heart was an absolute special last time it went around, only for it to finish 5th.  I won't be getting too involved here as the price doesn't allow it but I'd put Rundle on top.  It impressed me last start when I gave the handicapper a serve for weighting it out of the race.  I was wrong.  It really dug in with 58kg and drops to 55.5kg here.  Will go well.  Other hopes to Racing Heart, Eureka and Walpersdorf.

***Eureka and Walpersdorf have been scratched. No replacements as I was only being polite including them in the first place.  No hope really.***

Race 3 - I'll be with Mossriver in this.  Has a great overall record and has started this campaign with 2 wins.  Should be looking for the 1350m now.  Other hopes to Hidden Kisses, Zigzag and Marsh Harbour.

Race 4 - Would loved to have seen Dux Bellorum draw a better gate here because I think if it had, it would have really given Cape Kidnappers a go.  It still may however we backed Cape Kidnappers on Cup day and boy did he deliver.  It's won it's 2 starts by 7.8 and 6 lengths.  Clearly it has potential.  Perhaps the best bet here is to take them in a quinella given the short price for CK.

Race 5 - Going with Alltherightmoves here.  It's only had the 5 starts but has won 4 of them.  Each time handling the step up in grade nicely.  Importantly all 4 wins have been over this distance.  Other hopes to Catashee, Liesele and Norocos.

Race 6 - Saraji grabbed the cash for us last start and I'll be sticking with her here.  I think she'll be able to get a similar run as last start and dictate terms in front.  Will be hard to catch.  Other hopes to Amber's Crown, Seiyo and High On Believing.

Race 7 - I suspect Fillydelphia will be too strong again.  Her 3 runs back have been full of merit and I can't see a reason to jump off the bandwagon now.  Other hopes to Wonderful Lass, Rockdale and Writer.

Race 8 - I'm getting a vibe for Theft in the last.  The horse is racing in tremendous touch at the moment, winning all 4 starts this campaign.  I feel that he'll be able to either lead or sit in the 1st few and boot clear in the straight.  Should get a glorious ride from the 4 alley.  Other hopes to Carry Me Bluey, Danagaze and Dusty Gold.

Ascot

Race 1 - Keepers Court from Classic Emblem
Race 2 - Morning Mist from Thunderluv'n
Race 3 - Maschino from Forever Special
Race 4 - Our Ol' Fella from Grey Monarch
Race 5 - God Has Spoken from Western Jewel
Race 6 - Bontiara from Answers Are
Race 7 - Ron's Call from Red Hot Sax
Race 8 - He's Remarkable from Ranger
Race 9 - Ortensia from Rarefied
Race 10 - Latoria from The Entourage

Best Bets

Moonee Valley - Race 5 Number 2 Cat's Pyjamas
                      Race 6 Number 6 Eraset

Warwick Farm - Race 2 Number 1 Mikiyama
                      Race 6 Number 5 Scarf
Race 8 Number 13 Rolling Pin

Doomben - Race 2 Number 2 Rundle
               Race 6 Number 2 Saraji
               Race 7 Number 3 Fillydelphia

Ascot - Race 9 Number 11 Ortensia
           Race 10 Number 8 Latoria

Friday 11 November 2011

12/11/11 - Sandown, Rosehill, Eagle Farm and Toowoomba Selections

Sandown

Race 1 - I'll be following my rule of not betting on an early season 2 year old races.  Too many unknowns.

Race 2 - This is a tough race to line up.  On 1 hand you have the form coming out of the Lexus Hybrid and on the other the form from the Gucci.  I'm going with Miss Stellabelle.  She's been racing well and I think the 1400m should suit.  She'll find herself in a nice position from barrier 4.  Other hopes to Combat Kitty, Shopaholic and Anise.

Race 3 - Norsqui looks the one here.  Comes off a strong win last start over 2800m and has form around Niwot over this distance.  Goes well on a dead surface.  Other hopes to Jumpin Jack Cash, Olympic Win and Crafty Cruiser.

Race 4 - Like the look of Parables here.  We were on her last start when she got held up down the Flemington straight but still managed to run on for 3rd.  1300m should suit. She has form around Pinker Pinker, Red Tracer and Mid Summer Music.  Other hopes to Veewap, Cash Bound and Masthead.

***With the scratching of Veewap, I'll promote Doubtful Jack to the other hopes***

Race 5 - It looks hard to go past Under The Eiffel.  Has come back in great fettle, winning it's past 2 starts.  Drops 5kg on it's last win and likes the sting out of the track. Other hopes to Sistine Angel, Nine Tails and Rockpecker.

Race 6 - I won't be getting involved in this 5 horse race.  I would imagine Americain will be very hard to beat given that all runners on equal weights and the way he finished the Melbourne Cup.  No value though.

Race 7 - I think there could be a fair level of speed on here with a number of horses engaged that like to lead.  For that reason, I'm going with Galah.  From an inside draw, McEvoy should be able to position him just off the speed and run over the top of them.  Other hopes to Mahisara, Highly Recommended and Amah Rock.

Race 8 - Got a vibe about Folding Gear in this.  The horse has only had the 6 starts but has won 2 of those and placed twice.  Last campaign it won the Group 2 Autumn Classic and ran 3rd in the Group 2 Alister Clark.  Has won both it's starts at the track and 1 of those races was over this distance.  Other hopes to Erewhon, Ginga Dude and Extra Zero.

Race 9 - Going with Hi Belle in the last.  Has a liking for the track and comes into this race in good form.  Should be able to possy up just behind the lead and should be running on well.  Other hopes to Sophie's Spirit, Hinemoa and Yavanna.

Rosehill

Race 1 - 2 year old race with limited form.  I'll be avoiding it.

Race 2 - This looks a nice race.  I reckon we could be looking at a few decent horses for the future here.  I'm going with Sindarin.  It won it's debut but botched the start by a few lengths.  The runner up ran well in listed company next start.  Should be further improved.  Other hopes to Colorado Claire, Yurrrapendi and Urban Rocker.

***Update: Urban Rocker has been scratched. I won't add any as I think these 3 have it covered***

Race 3 - I'm going with Sacred Pins.  It should be able to get an unchallenged lead which could be beneficial if there is any track bias to leaders with the rail out 8m.  This horse looked a nice type on debut and has a 4kg advantage over the top weight.  Other hopes to Star Mystery, Cindarockinrella and Embark.

Race 4 - Savannah's Choice grabbed the cash for us last start and I'll be sticking with her again.  I imagine there will be a solid pace set and she'll be able to camp just off them from the nice draw.   Has a good record at this track and also the distance.  Other hopes to Winner Take All, Rain Special and Blurred Vision.

Race 5 - Here's another horse that won for us last start that I'll be sticking with in Stratana.  Loves this distance and has won at the track before.  With 50kg after the claim, this fellow will be very hard to run down.  Other hopes to Sea Lord, Regal Banter and Rumour And Scandal.

Race 6 - I like Embarrassed in this.  Confidence levels will be raised if Stratana goes well in the previous.  Looks like that this horse will be able to lead reasonably easily.  Is unbeaten at the track and 2nd up.  Went oh so close last start to winning.  Other hopes to My Destiny, Gilded Spur and Strumming.

Race 7 - It's hard to go past Riva De Lago.  His 2 runs back from a spell for 2 wins have been impressive.  He should get a nice cart into this race and will take a tonne of stopping.  Other hopes to Lightinthenite, Coup Ay Tee and Revolt.

***With the scratching of Revolt, I'll promote Circle Of Power***

Race 8 - I'll be respecting the fact that Fawkner has been brought up from Melbourne for this.  Let's face it, he's not hear to do sexy things to spiders.  Besides that, he looked good winning last start.  Other hopes to Gazza Guru, Scouting Wide and Guderian.

Eagle Farm

Race 1 - Won't be much value to be had here with only 5 horses going around.  If you must then I'd be looking at Ready To Rip.  Clearly he's the class runner of the field.  Won 1st up with 62kg, drops back to 56kg here.  3 from 3 over the distance.

Race 2 - 2 year olds. No form, no thanks.

Race 3 - I was on Rosagaze last start when it got nutted on the line.  I'll be sticking with her.  Last start she ran wide but gets a favourable draw here and should be prominent.  Still down in the weights and should be right in this.  Other hopes to Il Cardinale, Dusty Gold and On Face Value.

***With the scratching of Dusty Gold, I'll promote Koronovsky as a chance***

Race 4 - Our Recidivist looks weighted to win here.  Seriously, what was the handicapper thinking when he weighted Our Recidivist and Rundle?  Our Recidivist goes up 0.5kg for beating Rundle last start.  While Rundle goes up a whopping 3.5kg for running 2nd?  That's madness.  I suggest the handicapper be swabbed!  Besides the weight advantage, Our Recidivist is in great form winning it's past 3.  Other hopes to Rundle, Loves A Challenge and Red God.

Race 5 - Like the look of Morning Captain.  Looked good winning last start over a similar distance and should get all the favours from a nice inside draw.  Other hopes to Playtime, All Quality and Brauhauser.

Race 6 - I'm going with Kar Ma Te here.  It's won it's past 2 races well.  Admittedly this is a lot harder but the horse seems to be improving with each run and the further the better.  Munce should give it a top ride.  Other hopes to Princess Lyca, Kiss Me Deadly and Grey Assignment.

Race 7 - Excellantes should win this.  There looks to be a fair bit in it's favour here. Class runner, great gate and great record over the distance.  One glaring negative though is the price on offer. Currently under $2 and I'd imagine they'll be jumping from trees to get on tomorrow.  Having run 2nd in both it's 1st up starts, you'd have to consider whether you'd want to risk taking a short price.  Still will be hard to hold out.  Other hopes to Audacious Spirit, Celtic Dancer and Captain Clayton.

Race 8 - Think we have to respect the 2nd up form of Geblizt.  From 3 2nd up runs, the horse has won 1 and come 2nd in the other 2.  Her 1st up run this time in showed what a powerful finish it has.  From a better gate I suspect she'll take a lot of beating.  Other hopes to Thefifthhole, Show Me An Ace and African Mama.

Toowoomba

I should warn you that I don't follow Toowoomba racing and the only reason I've included these selections is because a family friend is having a "function" there and asked for some tips.  So if you're looking at them, I'd only suggest backing them if you're up on the day.

Race 1 - Silver Command
Race 2 - Peterhof
Race 3 - Unpublished Critic
Race 4 - Winning Moments
Race 5 - Mr Thatcher
Race 6 - Bannett
Race 7 - Margins (Scratched, no replacement in a small field)
